USS Bannock ATF 81 Just across the midship area of the 83' patrol boat is the stern, and just over the bow, is the overturned bow of the USS Meredith DD 726 after hitting a mine on 06/08/44, and a near miss by a bomb on 06/09/44. The near miss finished her off, and men from the Bannock's salvage and repair crew (Contrbutor's Dad, Byron Feagin included) went into the sea as she sank.
