YTB-779 Manhattan and
the YTB-835 Skenandoa head to head in a "Bull Fight" on the
Hood Canal, WA 2002. The worst thing in the world for a YTB to do, is to
just sit around idling and carboning up the main engine. Here the 2 YTB's
are engaged in a friendly push-off to work the main engines to blow out
the carbon. (Contributed by Ray Longaker)
YTB-779 Manhattan
April 4, 2003 the 2 YTB's and the M/V Mitchell were working a Navy
unit. During the move the wind and weather were building and
fortunately the job was completed before the "storm" over ran us. We
watched the storm build to the south until there was an almost solid
wall of heavy rain moving progressively north. In this shot the wall of
heavy rain has worked it's way past the Port of Seabeck in the south
and has rapidly worked it's way abeam of Hazel Point just to the right
of center in the picture. When we were overtaken by the heavy rain, it
was the proverbial "buckets of rain." The picture looks "fuzzy" because
of the light rain which proceeded the heavy rain cell. (Contributed
