USS Paiute ATF 159 Photo taken from the secondary steering station while on manuvers with the 6th fleet in the Med. Paiute was detached to rescue and tow a disabled sailboat (seen in photo) and its crew of three to port. It became disabled during the only storm the Paiute experienced while in the Med for 5+ months. Its main sail had parted and went over the fantail fouling its prop. It took some doing to get the crew to understand that we were shooting them a line and not shooting them. Paiute towed the sailboat into Toulon,France.  Paiute's  crew was the toast of the town.
